Wednesday means...

Crud, back to 2 jobs a day. Well, no guardian angel showed up so I've still been slaving away. I'll update more at some point when I have a chance to breathe again. Maybe by next Monday. Back to work...

September 11

Today is September 11. Today I am home sick from job #2. I worked last night until midnight with a slightly sore throat and woke up this morning all achey with a pounding headache and very sore throat. So now that I have a little free time today I'm doing some much needed Happy Jack catch-up work. Still really want to go back to bed though. But on the upside...I get 3 meals today! lol. Patrick made pancakes and bacon this morning!

Yesterday we had the first soccer games of the season. Girl's team lost, boy's team came from behind to tie. It was hot and sunny but a nice day. Got some really good pics too. I'll list a link when we get them posted.

Back in HJ land, I've got several pending and potential orders lately. One order is worth about what it takes me to earn at job #2 in 2 weeks. See if I could just get the word out I think I could have a sustainable job with HJ. It just takes some more time, which I don't have. It is really maddening. I need a guardian angel, or maybe a small business loan. Sure would beat these other two jobs I've got to deal with.

Back to work. And give a pumpkin a kiss.

A Labor of Love

I have never been more thankful for a labor day in my life. Monday was the first day in about 6 weeks that I have not been at work somewhere. Most days I'm working two jobs (not even counting Happy Jack) so having Monday off was like a gift from the Gods. We had a lovely breakfast, my girl and I did some number puzzles and watched a little TV, we went to the beach at beautiful Round Lake, came home and cooked dinner out on the grill, then took the loopy dog for a walk around the neighborhood. Other than some computer problems and a little extra curricular work I had to do for someone, it was a completely wonderful, relaxing day. I almost slipped and typed relaxing weekend, but alas, it was only one day. One nice thing about being so busy though, I'm losing a ton of weight. Some days eating just doesn't fit into the plan. lol

On a Happy Jack note, I have a few orders that have come in, and I've gotten clearance from the district to proceed with the second annual coloring contest. Now that I am a district employee I wasn't sure if I should present the coloring contest idea to these schools. I know there are a lot of kids looking forward to it though, so I was really hoping I could still do it up here. It is all on my own time and with my own funds, though, so I figured it shouldn't be an issue. I wanted to get it cleared though, just in case. This year's contest will run earlier...around Halloween. And the image will probably be from Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are. I'm 95% positive that will be the theme this year. Keep watching for details.

Back to work!

Happy Jack Turns 1!

Today is Happy Jack Designs first anniversary. One year ago I officially started the business. I so wish that I could still be doing it full time, as it is what I consider my career and besides my family, my passion in life. But alas, economic needs win out everytime, don't they?

Went to the girl's Back to School night last night. Met the teacher, saw her desk & locker (hope she isn't too mad we rearranged everything in her locker!). I miss seeing my baby girl. She is growing up WAY to fast.

Here is a pic of the kids on the first day of school. The girl wearing her new Frederick School shirt and the boy in his Prairieview shirt. They both opted for having a ton of Happy Jack buttons on their new messenger bags. Dang, where did my babies go?

Unfortunately my schedule is crazy again (again, what am I thinking....STILL). Working tonight, tomorrow night, and both weekend days as well. I *think* I have labor day off at both jobs. I am soooooooooooo looking forward to that.

Ok, lunchtime is over. Back to job #1.
