Happy Anniversary...

to us. Well, a day early, but who knows where we'll be tomorrow. This 4th of July marks our 15th wedding anniversary. I was really hoping to get back to Boston for this anniversary and show the kids everything, but I don't get any vacation time until August. So I'll just a post a few pics for the memories. First up is the Boston Public Garden where we got married. We drove out to Boston from work the Friday before the fourth of July. We stayed overnight in Ohio, then drove on to Cape Cod. We stayed at a couple bed and breakfasts in Cape Cod (even ate Mystic Pizza from Mystic, CT). We drove up to Boston on Monday morning and petitioned a judge for a marriage license. It was really great fun, although someone really needs to publish a book on the ins and outs of eloping. It was a real learning experience. We were married by Justice of the Peace James T. McDavitt in the Boston Public Garden. We had a couple of joggers stop and watch and applaud when the short ceremony was over. That was pretty funny.

After the ceremony we walked around the garden a bit and then went to eat at the Union Oyster House which is the oldest restaurant in Boston, if not the entire east coast. I have a placemat from the restaurant somewhere. While we were enjoying our seafood lunch in strolled George Washington and Benjamin Franklin all decked out from the 4th of July parade. It was really neat.

After some more sight seeing, we went to Quincy Market to have ourselves some rocking good desserts. lol. And then we went to Fenway to see the Red Sox play the Detroit Tigers!

So that was our day 15 years ago on the 4th of July. This year? We're going to the Round Lake Area parade and fireworks in the evening. Happy 4th to all.
